A Georgia Real Estate Agent Tour of the Atlanta Country Club and Homes
The Atlanta Country Club is an upscale neighborhood located in the city of Marietta, Georgia. Marietta is part of Cobb County, and is located North of Atlanta. Homes for sale in the ACC can range from the mid-700’s to over $1 million. The architectural style of homes vary greatly from European to Traditional. Many of the houses have six bedrooms, multiple fireplaces, and full basements.
Neighborhood amenities for all Atlanta country Club homes include golf, swim, tennis, and clubhouse. The Chattahoochee River is close by, with two parks for walking, jogging, playing and more. Public schools for ACC homes are Sope Creek Elementary School, Dickerson Middle School, and Walton High School.
Selling and Buying Houses in the Atlanta Country Club
The Atlanta Country Club is a great neighborhood to sell or buy a house. The demand to live there with its prestigious address, as well as the bountiful amenities, make it a sought-after area for Atlanta area home buyers. A few of the lots are being sold as-is, torn down, and rebuilt with new construction. The rebuilding on lots shows that buyers are confident in the value of the Atlanta Country Club. However, most lots are demanding a higher price when tear-down is not a necessity.
The Clubhouse was established after the Atlanta country Club was founded in the mid-1960’s. In 2017, the Clubhouse building was updated in the Atlanta Country Club’s “2017 Refresh” campaign. The Clubhouse is an impressive traditional, stone building with white columns and manicured landscaping. The interior is decorated in a polished, Southern style.
The Atlanta Country Club’s Clubhouse has multiple dining areas. These areas have seating with scenic golf course views a diner can enjoy while having a drink or meal. The President’s Grill, Clay’s Tavern, and The Overlook are the three locations in the ACC Clubhouse where members can order drinks and/or food.
Pool Members, their families, and member guests can enjoy an olympic-sized swimming pool at the Atlanta Country Club. The pool is open from Memorial Day until Labor Day. There are six lanes in the pool 25 yards in length. When open, the pool has a snack bar and pavilion where Atlanta Country Club members may purchase food and drinks.
Tennis facilities at the ACC are top-quality. There are “four clay courts, four hard courts, tennis shop and staff.” ALTA, USTA and flex league programs are also at the Atlanta Country Club. Website says, “weekday ladies teams, mens programs, weekly drills and numerous social events. The Atlanta Country Club Junior program offers clinic days for all ages and levels.”
The fitness center at the Atlanta Country Club is called the ACC Fitness Center. The Fitness Center staff are certified professionals and teach classes in the exercise room. There are classes ranging from “golf, pilates, kickboxing, spin, body sculpting, and yoga.” The main exercise room has free weights, cardio, and weight equipment. Televisions are either on the wall, or built-into the machines.
The Atlanta Country Club golf course is one of the best courses in the country. The underlying reason for the establishment of the club itself was to attract PGA tournaments to the Atlanta area. The Atlanta Classic hosted at the ACC for a number of years until it was moved to TPC at Sugarloaf. Other championship tournaments have also been played at the ACC golf course.
Engineers of the ACC golf course include Jack Nicklaus. It is a Par 72, 7,110 yards in length, has 18 holes, has a course rating of 75.6, and a slope rating of 147. Most notably, the golf course has a 13th hole that features Civil War ruins. The ruins are part of the Sope Creek Paper Mill that printed confederate money during the war. General Sherman, a Union Army General, burned the mill.
The ACC Clubhouse has golf course views and is also wonderful wedding location. Rent a variety of spaces, such as the terraces and patios, and even a ballroom to host your wedding ceremony and/or reception.
The ACC also hosts business events. Nevertheless, necessities, such as projectors, lecterns, internet and audio equipment are available. The ACC staff can create unique menus for the meetings.
Other events at the Atlanta Country Club include luncheons, parties of any occasion, banquets, reunions and more. There are custom menus for any of these events.
Membership to the Atlanta Country Club depends on residency and age. Any resident over the age of forty may vote, serve on the committees, and on the Board of Directors. They are “active”ACC members. On the other hand, “junior” ACC members are residents aged twenty-one to forty. These members do not have the right to vote. All resident Atlanta Country Club members have recreational privileges.
Another type of membership is the non-resident membership. Non-residents who reside within 100 miles, may also be members of the ACC. However, these members do not vote, nor do they serve on committees and the Board of Directors. However, all non-resident ACC members have recreational privileges. In addition, non-residents outside of a 100 mile radius may also be members. These members are therefore called “national” ACC members.
